POSTURE
How to sing like a star will be enhance when you understand posture and apply this law.
Body shape or
posture. I will like you know the most suitable posture for singing. As you
already know there is a great deal of muscles movement going on inside you
during singing. If you posture prevents these organs and muscles from moving
freely your singing will be affected.
The part of the body involved is from the bottom of the
spine to the back of the head. This area is not erect, in a straight line, even
when you are standing. There are three curves in it one at the hips, one in the
middle of the back, and the third is your neck. These curves have to be
straightened so that the body is as upright as you can make it [not in a dead
straight line that is impossible but as straight as is comfortable].
Here is an exercise to help you achieve a suitable posture
for singing. From your waist up, feel that you have stretched an inch or two.
Feel the walk-tall sensation which models have when they balance books on their
heads. To keep the shoulders down, imagine you are carrying two heavy shopping
baskets. You should feel alert, balanced, poised and ready for action.
Experiment with this posture until you feel it is right: it
will improve your appearance as well as your singing. The amount of space in
your is another factor which influences the sound of your voice.
